Layton Support Portal Launched

Layton Technology has launched a brand new Wiki Support Portal to deliver even better support and services to its customers.

September 10th, 2010.

To help support our customers faster, better and enable users to have access to more support facilities, customers can now access the Layton Technology's Customer Support Portal located at http://wiki.laytonsupport.com/index.php

The following support services are a now available online:

  1. Secure Customer Support Area - Here you can access the latest software upgrades / updates, activate your software, retrieve product keys and update your company details.
  2. User Forum - An all new user forum is now live and enables users to share information, interact with other users, log feature requests and product questions.
  3. Release Announcements and Release Notes - New version announcements and product release notes can be accessed from the main portal page.
  4. Wiki User Guides - All product user guides are to be stored online, which can be edited by registered users. Posting our product's user guides online will ensure the documentation is always up to date and available in one convenient location. Registered users are welcomed to edit and contribute to the online wiki guides.

Our aim is to provide exceptional support to our valuable customer base. We hope our new online community tools will enable us to communicate more effectively with our customers, ensuring the latest news, product releases and support is just a click away.

Network Inventory Software Update

Development Update for AuditWizard Network Inventory Software

September 6th, 2010.

AuditWizard v8.2.0 is currently in development and will feature three major new features and a number of bug fixes.

  • New Registry Key Crawler - an all new algorithm and registry crawler has been implemented to significantly improve the data collection of installed products, version numbers, serial numbers and products keys, including Microsoft, Adode and other major vendors.
  • New Ownership / Asset Management tabs for assets - Users will now be able to assign ownership of assets to a user, including creating customizable fields which can include data such as lease agreements, address details, or any information required. All the fields will be fully customizable enabling you to design the data fields to meet your needs exactly.
  • Automatic Update of the AuditAgent - If AuditWizard discovers a deployed audit agent is an earlier version to the current one available, it will automatically deploy the new audit agent to the asset. This feature will detect if the audit agent is out of date at the time of uploading a new audit.

AuditWizard Network Inventory Software 8.1.6 Released

AuditWizard 8.1.6 update available for download.

The next update to our leading software inventory software, brings the following enhancements:

  • Major performance with a database restructure and upgrade. This major update will delivery significant performance improvements.
  • Assets can sometimes be duplicated when audited and uploaded via a VPN, this will be resolved.
  • Add the ability for include more than 7 IP address ranges for the network discovery.
  • Other minor improvements and bug fixes.

AuditWizard 8.1.6 is a free update to all existing customers under support and can be download by logging into the customer support area.

AuditWizard Network Inventory Development Update

The list is not a definitive list as we may add or remove items as required but it does highlight what is currently in progress and planned for release soon. Layton Service Desk Help Desk Software Update

Layton Service Desk development has just entered its initial beta testing phase. Our internal support and development team have begun testing and everyone is really excited. The new version looks great and in terms functionally it is so much better, you can't compare the two versions. It is much easier to use and navigate. Setting up incoming and out going emails is a breeze as is connecting Layton Service Desk to external databases such as AuditWizard Network Inventory Software. You will be delighted with Layton Service Desk and its new features.

AuditWizard Network Inventory & HelpBox Help Desk Update

Last development update for 2009.

As our developers wind down for the Christmas break, I thought I would take this opportunity to post our last development update for 2009. In this final development blog update for this year I will cover both our AuditWizard network inventory and our HelpBox web based Help desk software.

AuditWizard Network Inventory Software update is just about complete. The new dashboard and reports upgrade is finished. We're in the testing phase and so far everything had gone just great. There are a few minor tweaks and a bit of polishing to do but other than that it's not far away from being released. We're hoping for a release date around the 15th of January, 2010. Below is a little taster of the graphs that will be available in the next update to the PC Auditing reporting module.

HelpBox Web Based Help Desk Software v6 is also nearing completion. The new designs for the help desk icons are under way and testing will begin early January. The re-design of the menu structure to a new tabulated format has been a success. The new design has not only simplifed the whole products ease of use but significantly reduced the amount of clicks required to perform many help desk functions. The release date is still on track for the first quarter of 2010.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our  AuditWizard PC audit customers and our HelpBox help desk users for their valuable feedback and suggestions. We look forward to delivering you major improvements and innovation next year.

We can only describe the all new Layton Service Desk as a remarkable upgrade. Re-written from the ground up using the very latest ASP.NET technology and utilizing many web 2 features such as AJAX, Layton Service Desk will transform how you run your help desk. Fully web based and ITIL compliant you will run a better help desk, faster and more effeciently than ever before.

Layton Service Desk is developed through direct feedback from our extensive customers base. Every feature and every module has been meticulously planned before being implemented. AuditWizard Network Inventory Reporting Update

AuditWizard Network Inventory Reporting & Dashboard Update

A very productive week with development as the main reporting engine upgrade was completed. We have added a load more canned reports, which are categorised so you can easily find the report you want. You will still be able to create your own customised reports of course. All canned reports produce an impressive graph and chart which is drill-able so you can get very granular with your data and each report is fully optimized so you're not sat around waiting for results either. Smart filters, drag and drop sorting are also included, and as with the current reports you can export to PDF, XLS etc. We are even adding the ability so you can schedule your network audit reports to be automatically emailed to you.

We are now hard at work upgrading the AuditWizard dashboard so expect to see some radical improvements with much better functionality, improved asset management and software inventory features.

As we complete more features we will update you on the progress. More importantly as we get nearer to the completion of the project we will also announce the release date.

Development is based on direct consultation with our clients to ensure we delivery the best network inventory product possible.

We are excited to announce that development is well underway for our next major update to AuditWizard network inventory software. An all new reporting module and dashboard upgrade is current in development. The all new reporting engine with drillable graphs and charts is an extremely powerful feature that enables IT managers to produce impressive reports about their IT assets in a snap.

Right out of the box AuditWizard network inventory software can produce a report for any eventuality. A comprehensive list of pre-defined (canned) reports can be run with just one click. No complicated configuration required, just point and click and an impressive graph with data is instantly produced. Schedule release date is December and all existing customers under support contract at the time of the release are entitled to a free upgrade.

AuditWizard network inventory software has gone to the next level in software inventory by giving IT managers the tools they need to confidentally manage their IT assets.
